Welcome to NationsBenefits: Community Health Choice Offers Members Supplemental Medicare Benefits

Texans eligible for Medicare have new options for supplemental benefits through Community Health Choice, Inc. (“Community”), a growing regional health insurer headquartered in Houston and serving 20 counties throughout southeast Texas.

Community announces today its partnership with NationsBenefits, including technology-based solutions that go beyond Original Medicare to help Community’s Members achieve a better quality of life.

Community was an early investor in social determinants of health (SDOH), a framework for understanding that food, housing, transportation, and other life circumstances impact access to health care and overall health and wellbeing. For Medicare Members covered under its Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP), Community offers a variety of supplemental benefits including a quarterly “Flex Card.”

“Community is a health plan with heart,” said Lisa Wright, Community’s President and CEO. “We care about the whole person, and understand the choices Americans sometimes have to make between paying their utilities or buying needed medicines. Our new Flex Cards help our D-SNP Members have more of what they need, whether that is help with groceries, utility bills, or eligible over the counter items like aspirin or bandaids.”

As a leader in innovative health plan design, Community continues to strengthen and diversify the benefits available to eligible D-SNP Members. “Our Members may need transportation, companion care, help with groceries, even help with technology,” said Wright. “In addition to covered services like preventative dental care, eye exams, and hearing tests, D-SNP Members can be eligible for a range of supplemental benefits from help shopping for groceries to help affording groceries.”

Texans eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid can learn more about choosing Community as their preferred Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) insurer by calling 281.378.5814 or visiting Community online at: https://www.communityhealthchoice.org/medicare/
