Subrogation – to seek payment from another.

If Community Members are involved in an accident or if someone else may pay for their claims, they must let Community know what happened. Community will try to find out if anyone else should pay for the claims.

Medicaid must be the Payer of last resort. That means Medicaid must always be the last one to pay.

If the date of your accident or injury occurred before September 1, 2017, please contact OPL toll free at 1.800.827.8276, Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST or on the Other Party Liability (OPL) Web site.

If the date of your accident or injury occurred after September 1, 2017, please contact the Texas Health and Human Services Commission at 1.800.252.8263.

If you have any other questions regarding your subrogation claim, please contact Community at 1.888.760.2600 or 713.295.2294.
