Vaccination is Key: Get Your Flu, RSV, and COVID-19 Shots!

Did you know there are three major respiratory illnesses that can knock you off your feet this fall and winter? We’re talking flu, RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), and of course, COVID-19. But here’s the good news: there are vaccines that can help protect you from all three!

Here’s the scoop on who needs which shot:

  • Flu Fighters:Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu shot every year. The flu can be a real bummer, causing fever, chills, coughs, and feeling wiped out. The vaccine is like a shield, teaching your body to recognize and fight the flu virus.
  • RSV Raiders:This virus mostly hits babies and young kids, causing congestion, coughing, and wheezing. It can be especially dangerous for preemies or children with health problems. There are two options:
    • Pregnant People: Getting an RSV vaccine during pregnancy can help protect your baby for the first few months of life.
    • High-Risk Infants: If your baby is under 1 year old and at higher risk for severe RSV, they might get a special RSV shot.
  • COVID-19 Crusaders:Everyone 6 months and older should get the latest COVID-19 vaccine. This virus can cause anything from mild sniffles to serious illness, especially for older adults and people with health conditions. The vaccine trains your body to defend itself against COVID-19.

Bonus Tip: Getting all three vaccines at the same appointment is safe and convenient! Talk to your doctor to see what’s right for you.

By getting vaccinated, you’re protecting yourself, your loved ones, and your whole community. Remember, superheroes are made, not born, and getting vaccinated is your superpower against these viruses!
