Monthly premiums don’t tell the whole story.

It’s true that our monthly health plan premiums are considerably higher for 2018. We completely understand your concerns and the temptation you may have to switch to a plan with a lower monthly premium. But, as every smart shopper knows, cheaper is not always better.

And when it comes to health plans, cheaper is not always cheaper, either.

Be sure to compare apples to apples.

Here are a few things we hope you consider as you shop for a plan that offers the best value for you and your family.

  • Lower monthly premiums often come with higher deductibles, so be careful. With some plans, you could pay up to $7,000 out of your own pocket for doctor visits and medical services before your plan even begins to share in the cost.
  • Community offers a benefits review to help you compare your options and make sure you’re not missing details that could cost you more than think.
  • We offer Marketplace Members Teladoc, which lets you speak to a board-certified doctor, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, using your phone, computer or mobile app—free of charge.
