for High School Seniors
Community Health Choice created the Life Services Department in 2018. The department provides services outside of healthcare and aims to address the social determinants of Community’s Members on Medicaid and CHIP. The overall goal is to invest in the futures of our Members and their families by providing them support to pursue their career and education goals.
One Life Services program is called CareerReady. CareerReady is a program designed to give Community Members who are High School Seniors and Pregnant Women a chance to pursue a career with the support from a Life Coach and scholarship from Community Health Choice. It is another way Community is moving life forward for their members.
Each Community Member accepted into the program is called a CareerReady Scholar. Every CareerReady Scholar has a Life Coach cheering and supporting them along the journey to starting their careers. CareerReady scholarships cover the tuition, fees and books needed to complete a job certification at Houston Community College or San Jacinto College
